Mud Field Festival at KVG International Public School
A Mud Field Festival was organized for the students of KVG International Public School on July 26 at the paddy field of Sri Manamohana Puthila, Kanthamangala. On the occasion, the School Director, Dr. Renuka Prasad K.V., and Dr. Jyothi R. Prasad, Secretary, AOLE Committee ‘B’ Division, conveyed their heartfelt best wishes to the students and staff.
The programme commenced with a prayer. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Jyothi R. Prasad, Director of KVG Academy of Liberal Education, Committee ‘B’ Division; Mr. Maurya R. Kurunji, Director of KVG Dental College; Mr. Bhavani Shankar Adthale, Administrator of KVG Management Committee ‘B’ Division; the School Principal, Mr. Arun Kumar; the Vice-Principal, Ms. Shilpa Biddappa; Sri Manamohana Puthila; and Mrs. Tulasi by planting saplings.
Teacher Ms. Hema Vailaya explained the traditional method of rice planting through a folk song, following which students and teachers entered the field to demonstrate the activity. Later, Skanda Diya Kallaje of Grade 10 explained the scientific benefits of playing in the mud field and its positive impact on health.
Sri Manamohana Puthila and Mrs. Tulasi, who generously provided the field for the event, were honoured on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Sri Manamohana Puthila highlighted the importance of mud field activities in the physical and overall health development of students. Mr. Bhavani Shankar Adthale also spoke on the significance of traditional mud field games.
School Principal Mr. Arun Kumar emphasized that such experiential activities greatly contribute to students’ physical fitness and holistic development. The students entertained the audience with folk harvest songs and dances, following which various games and competitions were organized for both students and teachers.
The programme was compered by Grade 9 students Nidhi and Pratiksha. Manvita C.H. of Grade 10 welcomed the gathering, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Sona Narkoodu. Teachers, non-teaching staff, and local sports enthusiasts were present during the programme.
