International Yoga Day Celebrated at KVG IPS

International Yoga Day was celebrated at KVG International Public School. On this occasion, The School Director, Dr. Renuka Prasad K.V., and Dr. Jyothi R. Prasad, Secretary, AOLE Committee ‘B’ Division, expressed their best wishes and support for the programme. The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp followed by a prayer.

The chief guest, Principal of KVG ITI College, Mr. Chidananda Balila, addressed the gathering and said that practising yoga under the guidance of trained teachers helps energize both the body and the mind. He advised all students to make proper use of yoga in their daily lives.

Later, the School Principal Mr. Arun Kumar spoke about the importance of yoga in today’s stressful life. He said that yoga helps in maintaining peace of mind, building self-confidence, improving social skills, and enhancing students’ concentration in their academic pursuits.

On this occasion, students who participated in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district-level yoga competition organized by Arogyadhama Yoga Vidya Trust (R), Mangaluru, Tapasvi School of Yoga, Mangaluru, and Canara High School Association (R), Mangaluru were honoured. Ashrith A.C., a fourth-grade student who secured first place, and Aditi U., who secured third place, were awarded certificates and mementoes.

Yoga instructor Mr. Santosh Mundakaje emphasized that yoga should not be limited to a single day but should be practised every day. Under the guidance of yoga teacher Ms. Prashvija, students performed various yoga asanas.

The highlights of the programme were presented by Maithili of Grade Eight, while the introduction of the guests was done by Lasya. The programme was compered by Brinda G. Rao. Fatima Ziba welcomed the gathering, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Fatimath Amna. The Vice-Principal, Ms. Shilpa Biddappa, and the teaching staff were present during the programme, contributing to its smooth and successful conduct.
